Objectives
1
Donate 1 million life-saving blankets by 2030
providing concrete shelter for homeless individuals, refugees, and animals in need.
Employ over 1,000 people with disabilities
ensuring training, job placement, and valuing unique talents.
Recycle over 1,000 tons of textile surplus
reducing waste and environmental impact by transforming unused materials into valuable products.
We were born in 2020 as a pilot project to create life-saving blankets for abandoned animals using textile surplus. Through a workshop focused on the job inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, our goal was to combine circular economy, work inclusion, and support for the non-profit sector.
We aimed to provide a concrete solution to the need to transform unused materials into valuable resources, directing them to shelters for abandoned animals while creating professional opportunities for those considered the most vulnerable in society.

The first to take part in the project were Luca Freschi, business strategist and CEO of Fody, who developed the economic and organizational model, and Riccardo Pagnini, charity manager and now head of relations with the non-profit sector. Luca defined the project’s strategic structure, while Riccardo managed agreements with the first suppliers, coordinated with associations in need of blankets, and organized the first inclusive workshop in collaboration with an association dedicated to supporting people with disabilities.
Thanks to our growing commitment and the attention we received, in the first two years we gained recognition from newspapers and television and obtained accreditation with ENPA, further strengthening our mission to support animals in need. As the project expanded, it sparked significant interest from various stakeholders: textile companies began reaching out more frequently, attracted by the opportunity to repurpose their surplus materials. At the same time, the growing demand for life-saving blankets extended beyond animals to include homeless individuals and refugees.
This evolution, combined with our desire to create jobs for disadvantaged people who had developed unique skills through our workshops, led us to structure the project in a way that ensured its economic sustainability.
On July 4, 2022, FODY was officially established as an innovative benefit startup with a social mission, representing a new business model that transforms what is often overlooked into opportunities for growth and inclusion.
